ball-bag, bollock-bag

Ball-bag (or bollock-bag as it was also affectionately called ) was played as follows. School bags were put on the ground, and players had to defend them.

The other essential item needed was a tennis ball, and the aim was to take people out of the game by hitting their bag with the ball (hence Ball-bag, clever eh?).

The usual situation was for people with an abundance of footie skills to dribble with the tennis ball trying to get people out, while those that could barely kick the ball would stand with their feet together, shielding as much of their bag as possible, hoping for a stray deflection would strike a good player's bag. This was quality play-time entertainment. Led to a lot of the lads at our school start bringing their stuff to school in small boot bags (smaller targets you see).
