Chug-a-lug was a game played with some drinkable, but gross tasting liquid. Everyone would sit in a circle with the drink in the middle. Someone would name an object starting with 'A'. The next person would say the 'A' object, and then add a 'B' object. The third person would say the 'A' object, then the 'B' object, and then add a 'C' object, and so on. The first person who 'missed' by forgetting what came beforehand or being unable to come up with an object had to 'chug', or take a big drink from, the gross substance. The game was played until you ran out of gross stuff, or were told to stop by a teacher. (ed: sounds like it'd be fun with beer)
